Product description
Made from a carefully orchestrated blend of mature Eaux-de-vie from the most exclusive terroirs of the Cognac region, Martell VSOP Cognac is aged to perfection in oak casks. Darker, fuller-bodied and overall more complex than the Martell VS. Martell VSOP is the youngest of which has aged for at least four years. Elegant and harmonious, Martell VSOP is an authentic expression of the Martell style. The Martell story started in 1715, when an intelligent businessman, Jean Martell, arrived in Cognac, France. That year, he founded his own Cognac house and married Jeanne Brunet, the daughter of a top Cognac merchant. This innovative move by the New Jersey lad, Martell, established Martell’s cognac house as a household name in France. In 2016, Martell’s cellar and blending secrets were transferred from Benoit Fil, the house’s previous cellar master, to Christophe Valtaud. Valtaud moved from vineyard manager to cellar master and acquired centuries-old secrets, including recipes to iconic blends and the location of “Paradis,” a hidden cellar where the most precious Eaux-de-vie is stored — some of which dates back to 1830. Martell VSOP presents tense aromas of ripe yellow fruits: mirabelle plum, greengage, apricot and vine peach. An elegant and perfectly balanced cognac.

Since 1715, Martell has produced, exported and marketed cognacs which are recognized worldwide for their outstanding quality and finesse, obtained through double distillation of exclusively clear wines and aging in fine-grainedoak barrels. |
